Your lively sense of humor and zest for life brought pure sunshine into all of our lives--even in the sun-drenched Leeward Islands.  May God hold your dear family in the palm of His hand and give them strength, courage, and faith during this time of sorrow and profound loss.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all. It is such a shock to hear about friends passing.  I can only imagine that Justin's verve and his passion and his love for Kelly, friends, and family (and anyone he met really) and his deep particiaption in Life allowed him to be in a place of content.  If anything, Justin was grounded and happy--a rock and a compass.  I will miss you, Justin--our talks about boats, real estate, food and wine.  I will honor you and trust that you are doing fine.

We will always remember your energy, vibrancy, sense of humor, positive attitude, love of the outdoors, love of animals and unselfish willingness to help others.   These are wonderful traits that are shared by all of your family.   Mere words can not impart the sadness and emptiness we feel by your loss, and how much you will be missed.   We were all most fortunate in so many ways to know you, and we pray that God's blessings and comfort will be with your family.

Yours forever in ___ kai _____.

Your Beta brother,
Marc

We consider ourselves fortunate to have known Justin and his family.  Our children had such good friends in the Brindley children.  We fondly remember those early childhood years.  This tragic event has touched our hearts and again confirmed to us how short and fragile life is.  Our love and condolences go out to you his family.  Bob and Valerie, you are such caring, great parents.  Your children are a reflection of your love and adventure for life.  Please accept our love, and also know that you will see Justin again in the place our Heavenly Father has prepared for us all after we leave this mortal existance.  Our Father in Heaven loves each of us and He planned for us all to return to Him.  He is now holding Justin in His arms and welcoming him home.  God comfort and bless you all.  Brittany and Kimmy (Kim), please remember what a full and wonderful life Justin lead in just a few short years.  We love you all and pray your pain will turn into peace with the passing years.  Love, The Littlewood's      Close

I’ve always been jealous of how effortlessly life came to Justin.  The world was his sandbox to play in.  While I was busy debating about what I was going to have for lunch, Justin was working in Bangladesh; or trekking across Australia; or climbing in Colorado; or rafting in Montana.  Why did he do these things?  To him, it just made sense.  This is what living was to Justin.  It’s what life should be to us.

So for the freshman year sailing trip to Austin;
for finding out what could go wrong in a
Mexican border town (answer: a lot);
for the midnight trek to Crested Butte;
for talking me into Outward Bound;
for the regattas to Vera Cruz (but not so much Biloxi);
for surfing all of Costa Rica;
for climbing Mount Chirripo;
for surviving a miserably hot week-end
in New York City;
for driving the RV home from Louisville;
for supporting Nathan and Kelly in Jamaica;
for harassing Andrew in Montreal;
for letting me show off Nashville to you and Kelly;
for being that person who always inspired me
to turn off the TV and do something,

Thank you.  You be missed, my friend. Close

It is just so hard to deal with the fact that the weekend before he died I had caught up with Justin for the first time since he was in Australia, and we spent the weekend in the Napa Valley. It was where I met Kelly for the first time and I also introduced him to other friends of mine. I know Justin was truly Mike's best friend and I really feel for him and for Kelly as they come to deal with a future without Justin. My love goes out to themespecially at this time. Close

Ten times in ten years  / Michael Hornes (Friend)

It is always too long between seeing people.  In the past ten years, it may have only been ten times, but every one has a lasting memory of a person who gentle smile and zest for life always brought about the best in people.

For me, the memory of that smiling face will be forever etched in my memory and I will see it when I take a walk or see some foreign land and meet a new smiling face.

The world is a better place with guys like you in it and as the days fade your memory will surely not.  You will live on in every person that you touched, every friend you made and every stranger whose path crossed yours.  I am proud to say that our paths crossed and only wish they could have done so more.

Que le vaya bien.

I met Justin the month after we all graduated college down in Costa Rica when we became roommates in a big group house. Justin was always up for any fun outdoor adventure from the times in Costa Rica to when we all lived in San Francisco. He experienced life to the fullest and lived life in a way that I think most people wished they did and were inspired by. He was absolutely hilarious and was always great at making everyone around him laugh. Justin you will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Kelly, the Galloglys and the Brindleys. Close

You left us way too soon my friend.  Thank you for being such a bright light on this earth.  You made tremendous contributions in all that you accomplished and impact to all the lives you touched.  Spire will ALWAYS have your fingerprints and it will stand proudly as a testiment to your thoughtful dedication.  However, these accomplishments pale in comparison to your legacy of kindness, sincerity and passion for life, these contributions are as memorable as your smile.  We will miss you my friend. We were fortunate to become friends with Kelly and Justin when they lived in SF. We have so many great memories with them, it seems like we’ve known them forever. It’s so hard to believe that we won’t get to see Justin again, be we take great comfort knowing that he didn’t waste a second of his short life.

We will never forget Justin’s kind heart and adventurous spirit.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Brindley & Gallogly families. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

So many good memories with you...  / Kelli Hale (Friend)
Justin,

Every memory that I have with you brings a smile to my face. We had so many good times together that I will forever hold close to my heart. Poker games, road trips to Breckenridge, New Years, the RV to Bonnaroo, your 30th birthday…. It is so hard to believe that we will not have any more. Seeing you last month and the life that you and Kelly have built together and meeting all your CU friends is a time that I will always cherish. My heart goes out to Kelly and your family and my thoughts and prayers are with them. You truly were the best of the best. I am going to miss you so much.

Kelli
